The latest updates and spoilers for "Agents of SHIELD" Season 5 will feature the return of Marvel's most notorious alien faction, the Kree and cast member Ming-Na Wen confirmed that they will have a huge presence in the show's new plot this season.

There is also the possibility that the hit series will be the bridge for the Marvel TV shows to crossover with the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as comic book fans are asking questions during their panel at the New York Comic-Con 2017 event.

Team Coulson vs the Kree

The plot of "Agents of SHIELD" season 5 will feature Phil Coulson and his team journey to the vacuum of space after they were abducted by an unknown organization during the season 4 finale.

Fans have speculated that the unnamed group that abducted them are "SWORD," a division of SHIELD that handles extraterrestrial threats.

Coulson's team will not only worry about SWORD as Ming-Na Wen told Screenrant at New York Comic-Con that they will also encounter the Kree once again and other alien species this season.

"We have the Kree to deal with in Season 5," Wen said. "We can actually mention that and how strong and blue they are. That's one element. And then will have aliens."

The Kree first appeared in the show's first season as Nick Fury used a dead alien soldier's blood to revive Coulson after his death at the hands of Loki in the "Avengers" movie. They are also responsible for the creation of the Inhumans after they experimented on the early humans using Terrigen crystals.

The blue-skinned aliens also appeared in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie.

TV and Movie crossover happening soon?

The cast of "Agents of SHIELD" was present during show's NYCC panel and answered several fan questions. One fan asked if the Marvel Studios will allow their TV seriess to crossover with their films. The cast officially announced that they "don't know" if it will ever happen in the MCU.

The idea of the MCU TV series and movies crossover has been a growing awkward subject for the studio as president Kevin Feige explained that it is a matter of scheduling, or not wanting to pigeonholed the shows. The TV side also expressed their interest in having the MCU TV characters in the films, but the corporate side of the company would not allow it.

"Agents of SHIELD" has always been the flagship show that connects the events of MCU films to its plots such as the fall of SHIELD in "Captain America: Winter Soldier," the Extremist Centipede project in "Iron Man 3," and the Inhuman registration in "Civil War." Season 5 will premiere on Dec. 1, 8 PM on ABC.
