The latest updates and spoilers for "X-Men: dark phoenix" reveal new details about Jean Grey and Cyclop's relationship in the sequel's plot. Cast member Tye Sheridan told The Wrap that the film will not be like any other typical superhero movie due to the large stakes at hand prior to the fate of the world. The new "X-Men" movie will feature Jean's first encounter with the Phoenix Force after the team's battle with Apocalypse, and her growing power will put her friends and the world in danger.
There is also a new leaked image of the mutant team's costume in "Dark Phoenix" and their design is based on a popular 2001 comic book run.

An out-of-control Jean Grey
According to Tye Sheridan, "Dark Phoenix" will have more "drama" than a typical superhero movie due to the huge emotional stake the mutant team has to deal with regarding one of their own going to the dark side.
"Jean goes crazy in the movie. Well, Cyclops doesn't think she's going crazy -- Cyclops just thinks she's gotta work some stuff out," Sheridan said. "It's interesting, the drama in the movie. We treated this movie as much more of a drama versus a superhero film."
Sheridan's comments hinted that both Cyclops and Jean will be closer to each other to the point of romance similar to the comics.
Their growing relationship will likely factor in Jean's uncontrollable power and save her soul before she succumbs to the Phoenix Force.
Co-star James McAvoy told Entertainment Weekly in a previous interview that "Dark Phoenix" is the most emotionally driven storyline in the franchise, and the characters are forced to confront their personal demons and shortcomings.
The sequel will also feature the death of a major "X-Men" character as the Hashtag Show speculated that Mystique, Charles Xavier, Magneto, or Beast will meet their demise at the hands of Jean Grey in the movie. Charles in the film will relish their success and becomes blinded to what is most important to him.
Mystique and Beast will continue to guide and lead the young mutant team until they learned to become a cohesive unit.
Lastly, Magneto will found Genosha as a safe haven for mutants and he will be viewed as a "messiah-like" figure with his own legion of followers called the Acolytes.
The 'Grant Morrison' touch
Twitter username XavierFiles posted a leaked photo of the X-Men's new costume in the sequel and their designs on Grant Morrison's run of the "New X-Men" comic book series in 2001.
Their outfits consist of a dark blue color scheme with jackets that has the huge yellow X logo at the center. The team is also accompanied by extras wearing flight suits indicating that they are inside a plane hanger. The sequel is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on Nov. 8.
