Joy-Anna Duggar is in the news again, and this time it is for a good reason. This Duggar Family Member just recently gave birth to her son, Gideon Martyn Forsyth, and she couldn’t be happier about it. Well, now fans are curious as to how Gideon got his name, and both Joy-Anna and the baby’s father Austin Forsyth reveal how he got his name. Would you be shocked if the chosen name was inspired by the bible? Probably not, but there are multiple elements that were brought up in deciding his name that the couple just revealed to TLC cameras.

How did this brand new Duggar family member get his name?

Now, according to Name Berry, in the bible, Gideon was “A judge called on by God to rescue the Jews from the Midianites.” It is also a symbolic name, as the name Gideon symbolizes "Great work done by few people." Now, that is how he got the first part of his name. His second name Martyn was simply given to him because Martyn is a family name. For instance, It’s Austin’s middle name, and it was also his grandfather’s on his mother’s side.

Well, it is safe to say that the Duggar family fans couldn’t be happier for Joy-Anna and Austin, bringing their baby safely into the world. For example, one Duggar fan congratulated them for the successful delivery of Gideon by commenting: “CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!

Love the name! In total shock, you had him already, lol!” Another then commented, joking about Joy-Anna having another kid by saying: “Congratulations! Think it’s too soon to ask if you’re ready to do it all again? Lmao! I’m only kidding.”

What is everybody else in the Duggar family up to now?

Well, in case you haven’t switched on the TLC network recently, you wouldn’t know that the family’s TLC reality television series “Counting On” just started airing new episodes from its dramatic new season.

This season is said to be so dramatic that it has been rumored among fans that it may deal with what the consequences were of Jill Duggar’s husband Derick Dillard being fired from the series.

In case you didn’t know, Dillard was kicked off the series after he made quite transphobic remarks about fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings.

TLC even said in a statement that they parted ways with him because they didn’t want his views to be associated with their network. This would also not be the first time that Dillard got himself into hot water, as he previously attacked feminists online, as he hated that they believed in abortion.
