Amber Portwood has struggled with pills, alcohol and anger issues for years. These issues have been documented extensively on "Teen Mom OG" and when Amber was arrested several years ago, she decided to choose prison over professional help. She spent months in prison away from her daughter to get sober, but even when she was released, she struggled to keep herself together. Gary Shirley tried to pick up the pieces to help her out, but he also had to think about their daughter Leah. In a controversial move, Amber started dating Matt Baier, a recovering drug addict from Boston.
Despite being accused of trying to reach out to both Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans first, Portwood decided to give the relationship a chance. The two dated for a few years and got engaged. They were planning their wedding before things went wrong.
During their relationship, Amber learned that Matt may have relapsed during the relationship. On a "Teen Mom OG" reunion special, she also accused Matt of taking their money from a mutual bank account. Despite breaking up in May, Portwood and Baier decided to go on "marriage bootcamp" where they would discuss their issues. It was here that she met Andrew Glennon who worked as a producer on the show. But despite meeting a new boyfriend, Amber is now revealing that she was not in a good place when filming.
According to a new tweet, Amber Portwood is now admitting that she had relapsed, as she was drinking heavily and taking her prescription medication for her bipolar disorder.
Matt Baier had relapsed
Amber could have relapsed because her relationship with Matt was falling apart. The man she had trusted for so long was starting to drink and possibly do drugs again.
On "Teen Mom OG," Baier admitted he had relapsed and that he wasn't sober, but he didn't reveal what he was using.

I was heavily drinking on top of my bipolar and borderline medication. Obviously something you shouldn't do with medications like that. However it happened and I went through hard times in order to be truly happy finally.💖

Amber also revealed that she is happy that she's now sober again and she's focusing on her future.
One can imagine she's giving a lot of credit to Andrew, who appears to be a positive person in her life.
Son on the way
The couple is expecting a baby in May. She's about seven months pregnant with her first son, and she has decided that his name will be James. No word on whether she will share the baby and the birth on "Teen Mom OG," as she may be more protective of her relationships now given the drama with Matt.
