According to Page Six, on Wednesday, February 21, Kat Von D, 35, whose full name is Katherine von Drachenberg, announced that she and Leafar Sayer, 45, Chicano Prayers singer, had tied the knot that day. The wedding follows a week-long engagement on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2018. Both she and Seyer shared posts on social media.
The wedding announcement
On Wednesday, the former "LA Ink" star posted a photograph to Instagram with the caption, "Today I married my soul's mate, my mind's twin, my best friend."
Leafar Seyer also posted the same picture to social media, saying, "Today, I married the girl of my dreams."
Both Kat von D and Leafar Seyer also wrote, "En vida y en muerte," in their posts, which translates to, "In life and in death."
The wedding follows a week after Valentine's Day, when Seyer went all-out on a very romantic gesture, renting a plane that carried a banner reading "I LOVE YOU VON D" in red lettering.
In a video posted by Von D, Seyer is wearing the same ring as he is in Wednesday's photograph announcing the wedding. In the post, she wrote, "...so this just happened. @prayers."
The pair was very coordinated in the photograph, both having matching black manicures and thick wedding bands, as well as black shoes with gold detailing.
Kat von D and Leafar Seyer
Leafar Seyer, whose real name is Rafael Reyes, is a Mexican native and one half of the Chicano Prayers, an electronic rock duo that he formed with friend David Parley. The band is known for Cholo music, which is a style of music that incorporates aggressive rock lyrics about gang and street life, laced over heavy metal beats and synthesizers.
Leafar Seyer is also the author of a 2011 book, "Living Dangerously."
Kat von D is an American tattoo artist, model, musician, entrepreneur and television personality. She is a former star of "LA Ink" and the face of Kat von D Beauty, as well.
Von D was married to fellow tattoo artist Oliver Peck from 2003 until 2007, when they divorced.
Soon after, in 2008, she began dating Motley Crue band member Nikki Sixx until 2010. Following Sixx, she dated Jesse James and Joel Zimmerman (whose professional name is DeadMau5).
Rumors that Kat von D and Leafar Seyer were dating started back in 2015, when Seyer started to appear on Von D's social media accounts. More recently, though, Von D has posted pictures of the couple to Instagram, one of them at L.A.'s Getty Museum in early February, and another of the couple cuddling in bed.
