"The Haves and the Have Nots" returns to OWN on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Fans have waited a long time to find out what Tyler Perry has in store for the new season. He has already used every theme in the book during previous seasons. Die-hard fans are wondering if there will be much of the same or something more shocking. This season of the series has been advertised to be the most explosive season yet.
"The Haves and the Have Nots" is executive produced, written, and directed by creator Tyler Perry, who keeps the drama jam-packed with episodes that cause viewers to talk about it from week to week.
In previous seasons, there have been several murders, and many of them are still unsolved. There have been themes of destruction, deceit, threats, and lies that involve almost every character on the popular nighttime soap opera. Because of Perry's genius, the characters are intertwined to the point that their problems impact the lives of others. So, what should viewers expect this season?
Season expectations
Viewers should expect more of the same on steroids. Even the cast said so during the hiatus. Aaron O'Connell, who plays Wyatt Cryer describes the new season as being "wild." He said it is going to be absolutely crazy. Tyler Lepley, who plays Benny Young describes the upcoming season as one where people will reap what they sowed.
The main characters will definitely receive consequences for their previous action. Crystal Fox, who plays the role of Hanna Young, says she is proud to be part of something that seems so real.
Last season's cliffhanger
When the last season ended on September 12, 2017, it was a cliffhanger in every sense of the word. That's because Veronica Harrington was driving Melissa home from the hospital after she attempted to abort her baby.
On the way home, Officer Justin ran into the back of the car and pushed it over a cliff. Viewers were left trying to guess if anyone got killed. More than likely, it was not Veronica. She is too involved in so many loose ends of the series to be killed off. On the other hand, Melissa could easily be removed from the show and the popular themes would be able to continue without her.
The cliffhanger will probably be the very first scene that will be addressed when the season premieres. Make sure you tune in on January 9 to find out what the series has in store for those who are more than ready to begin seeing what will happen next. Are you excited about the upcoming season of "The Haves and the Have Nots"?
