What to expect from the upcoming season of 'The Haves and the Have Nots'

"The Haves and the Have Nots" returns to OWN on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Fans have waited a long time to find out what Tyler Perry has in store for the new season. He has already used every theme in the book during previous seasons. Die-hard fans are wondering if there will be much of the same or something more shocking. This season of the series has been advertised to be the most explosive season yet.

When the last season ended on September 12, 2017, it was a cliffhanger in every sense of the word. That's because Veronica Harrington was driving Melissa home from the hospital after she attempted to abort her baby.

On the way home, Officer Justin ran into the back of the car and pushed it over a cliff. Viewers were left trying to guess if anyone got killed. More than likely, it was not Veronica. She is too involved in so many loose ends of the series to be killed off. On the other hand, Melissa could easily be removed from the show and the popular themes would be able to continue without her.

The cliffhanger will probably be the very first scene that will be addressed when the season premieres.
