The latest updates and spoilers for the "Spider-Man: Homecoming' sequel reveal a casting call that teased a new character joining the movie. The Hashtag Show reported that the film's casting director Sarah Finn is looking for a potential female actor who could play a "femme fatale" character and comic book fans speculate that she could be a version of Black Cat or Silver Sable in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Collider Video host John Schnepp teased that possibility that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will appear in the "Venom" spin-off film. "Mad Maxx: Fury Road" star Tom Hardy will star in the movie playing journalist-turned-anti-hero, Eddie Brock.

A 'femme fatale' casting

According to The Hashtag Show, Sarah Finn is looking for 20-year-old European actresses who can play the role of a "femme fatale" character. The news came on the heels of rumors about Marvel Studios looking for a European iteration of the famed Spider-Man supporting character, Gwen Stacy, but it is not the case.

Comic book fans have speculated that the female character could be the MCU's version of Felicia Hardy a.k.a. Black Cat and Silver Sable. In the comics, Felicia Hardy is a former cat burglar who followed the steps of his famed father, Walter Hardy, and created a cat-themed suit for the job. She has cross paths with Spider-Man, and the two had an "on and off" relationship as she believes that the mask is who Peter really is and the civilian life is a facade.

As for Silver Sable, she is a mercenary who leads her own group, Wild Pack. She has fought against the web-slinger numerous times usually having a bounty on his head and often, team-up with him against more dangerous targets. She is also from a fictional small European country Symkaria, thus increasing her chances for the femme fatale character in the movie.

Other contenders include Jessica Drew a.k.a. Spider-Woman and Kate Bishop, the second Hawkeye.

Spidey in the 'Venom' movie?

According to John Schnepp, Tom Holland has been seen on the set of the "Venom" movie, but he clarified in a new Collider video that the latter is playing Peter Parker, not Spider-Man.

"Okay, I'm not saying Spider-Man is in the film," Schnepp said.

"When I say Tom Holland's Spider-Man is in the film, I'm saying Peter Parker is in the film."

So far, Sony and Marvel Studios did not make any comments regarding Holland's participation in the spin-off. The "Venom" movie will feature Hardy's version of Eddi Brock and the plot will be a combination of "Lethal Protector" and "The Planet of the Symbiotes" arcs.
