After almost two months of being on a break for the holiday season, Bill Maher returned to HBO for "real time." As expected, the outspoken comedian made sure to target Donald Trump and got more than he bargained for.

"Real Time" sounds off

It didn't take Donald Trump long to start 2018 just as he finished 2017. The controversies and scandals of the first year of his presidency carried over to the new year, whether it was the Russian investigation, the in-fighting with his own Republican Party, or reckless remarks leading to a government shutdown.

In response, many in the media and in late night TV took shots at the former host of "The Apprentice," and that continued with the return of Bill Maher during the January 19 edition of "Real Time" on HBO and went even further during an interview with Michael Wolff.

Kicking off his opening monologue on Friday night, Bill Maher made sure to hit right at Donald Trump. "Happy New Season, and New Year. I believe, on the Chinese calendar, it’s the Year of the Sh*thole," Maher said, before citing Trump's recent "sh*thole" remarks for derailing a deal on immigration.

Bill Maher went on to mock Donald Trump, saying, "The Democrats are not budging on the dreamers, and Trump is more dead set on his stupid wall because John Kelly said Trump on the wall was uninformed,"

Bill Maher then shifted the topic to the allegations that Donald Trump had an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels back in 2006 before reportedly paying her off to keep quiet during the 2016 election.

"He's the only man ever to pay a porn star to keep her mouth shut," Maher said to the laughter of his audience. "He said he would only use a condom if Mexico paid for it," he joked. "He's the biggest germaphobe. He won't shake hands but he'll raw dog with a porn star?" Maher went on to say of the affair, but stating, "He chased her around the room in his tight whites, which Trump said, 'you mean my voters.'"

Wollf's claim

Following his monologue, Bill Maher interviewed Michael Wolff, the author of "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House." During the interview, Wolff hinted that the president was currently having an affair after he asked if there was anything in the book that no one had brought up.

"There is, but I can't tell you what it is," Wolff said, while adding, "There is something in the book that I was sure of but it was so incendiary I didn't have the proof." "It is about a woman? Maher asked. "It is," Wolff replied. "Is it someone he's f**king now?" Maher wondered again. "It is," Wolff confirmed.
