Actress jessica chastain is the host for this weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live." The 40-year-old actress has been prepping all week for her January 20 appearance on the popular sketch comedy show. This will mark Chastain's first time as "SNL" host, but she is no stranger to the spotlight.

'Molly's Game'

Jessica Chastain is currently starring in the film "Molly's Game," for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Although she did not win for her role as Molly Bloom, the movie is a huge hit at the box office. A true story about an Olympic skier who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game for ten years before getting busted, "Molly's Game" has made about 23 million so far.

Chastain plays the starring role of Molly Bloom in "Molly's Game," alongside Idris Elba and Kevin Costner. The stunning actress has appeared in a ton of outstanding movies, including "The Help," "Texas Killing Fields," "Miss Sloane," "The Martain," and "Zero Dark Thirty." In 2012, she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Maya in "Zero Dark Thirty."

This year, you can expect to see Jessica Chastain in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix," which is scheduled to release in November of 2018. She is also starring in "George and Tammy," which is the story about country music stars Tammy Wynette and George Jones. Chastain will play Tammy Wynette, and Josh Brolin will star as George Jones.

The musical guest this weekend on "Saturday Night Live" is Troye Sivan, a 22-year-old actor, and singer from South Africa. Sivan has been sharing his excitement over his "SNL" appearance with his 7.9 million followers on Twitter. Fans of Sivan think he will perform "My! My! My!" and "The Good Side" on Saturday. This will mark the singers first time on "SNL."

You never know who is going to make a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live." Last weekend, Bill Murray returned to the set as former Trump advisor Steve Bannon.

With all the craziness that is going on in politics these days, it seems like former cast members are more than willing to come back to the "SNL" stage.

The return of Will Ferrell

Speaking of former cast members returning, next weekend, on January 27, funnyman Will Ferrell will make his way back to the "SNL" stage to host. The last time Ferrell hosted was May 12, 2012. He was a cast member on the show from 1995 - 2002. The musical guest for January 27 is country singer Chris Stapleton, who appeared on "SNL" one time before, back in January of 2016.
