Ryan Edwards admitted that heroin was his Drug Of Choice during last night's new episode (Dec. 11) of "Teen Mom OG." According to a new report from Us Weekly magazine, Edwards' struggles with drugs were spotlighted last night as he and his former girlfriend, Maci Bookout, attempted to get their way in their ongoing battle over the custody of their nine-year-old son Bentley.

“It’s a little tough sometimes," Ryan Edwards admitted about getting clean, "just trying to get through the withdrawals and stuff.” Edwards was seen nearly falling asleep behind the wheel during last season's show as he drove himself and his now-wife, Mackenzie Standifer, to their quicky wedding in Tennessee.

Then, days later, after being questioned about his use of Xanax, Edwards entered a treatment program to address his struggles with addiction.

Maci Bookout wants Ryan Edwards to pass a drug test before seeing their son

During the show, Maci Bookout announced that she was sending a letter to Ryan Edwards through her attorney that would explain the stipulations needed to allow him to visit with their son, Bentley. “I’ll need you to pass a drug screening, hair and urine, at my expense immediately prior to you taking [Bentley] for a visit,” read a portion of Bookout's letter to her troubled ex-boyfriend.

Ryan Edwards' parents, Larry and Jen Edwards, also spoke of their son's struggles on the show, admitting that while they knew that something was going on with Edwards, they were unable to get to the bottom of his issues because he would always leave if they started to argue.

Ryan Edwards preferred heroin over other drugs

While Mackenzie Standifer only asked Ryan Edwards about his use of Xanax, he told his lawyer on Monday night that his drug of choice wasn't Xanax, but rather heroin. Edwards then told his lawyer that despite Bookout's suggestion that he was ignoring her, it was actually she who was ignoring him.

“[Maci Bookout] won’t even return my phone calls or text messages,” he claimed. However, as the lawyer explained to the longtime reality star, Edwards will likely be unable to see his son until he is able to pass a drug test.
