The Victoria's Secret fashion Show is annually one of the most hyped events in the fashion industry, as some of the world's greatest models strut their stuff, complete with pomp and circumstance. While the fashion and models always take center stage, it's also a strong opportunity for musicians to get involved in a different kind of performance. With the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show just around the corner, the musical guests have officially been announced, with a mix of high-profile stars and up-and-coming names.

Performers for the show

The biggest name performing will be Harry Styles, still basking in the glory of his successful solo career following several records with One Direction.

He is one of the hottest artists around right now, with name recognition and handsome looks to fit the atmosphere of the fashion show. Miguel will also be there in a performance that will likely include his Billboard Hot 100 hit "Sky Walker" (especially considering that models WALK down the runway).

Leslie Odom Jr. - best known for playing Aaron Burr in "Hamilton" - will also be performing. He released a couple of albums last year, including a Christmas album, although that might not go over too well in China, a country that shuns official religion. The final performer for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will be Jane Zhang, who isn't particularly well-known in the United States, but has a following in her home country of China.

Victoria's Secret loses main act

The musical lineup may have left something to be desired, but that was never the intention. The original main act of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was going to be superstar Katy Perry.

She had her visa denied just a week before the show, however, supposedly because of an anti-China costume she wore when performing in Taiwan in July 2015. She's not the only one to run into a problem on the eve of the big event, either - model Gigi Hadid also had her visa denied, which may have to do with an offensive video she once made.

The show must go on, however. The actual performances will take place on November 20 in Shanghai. The show will then air on CBS in the United States on Tuesday, November 28. In the meantime, there is largely expected to be a social media blackout from the show's models and big names.

One thing's for sure: this will definitely be the most controversial Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in recent memory of the event.
