Judging by everything we've seen so far, we can pretty much tell that "The Walking Dead" Season 8 is going to be a wild ride. Not only were the first two installments full of action as the "All Out War" was heating up, but they were also a challenge for keen-eyed viewers, given how many Easter eggs have been planted throughout the episodes. And while the Season 8 premiere featured a few throwbacks to earlier seasons, the following episode did a pretty good job of teasing future events with its well-hidden details.

So we had the curious case of the stuffed bunny that might have hinted at a devastating death, a topic which we covered in a previous article.

However, if today's theory is to be believed, this Easter egg might not be the only one as "TWD" 8x02 featured yet another, rather interesting scene - a scene that may or may not be a foreshadowing of what's to come in future seasons of "The Walking Dead." So bear with us, as we further explore this sequence in more depth.

The scene recap

While on the hunt for that one "Savior" who threw a grenade at them, a group led by King Ezekiel and Carol encountered a walker.

And even before Jerry finished him off, we could see that there was something strange about this particular walker. So much so that King Ezekiel had to wonder aloud what befell this creature, to which Carol replied that they don't have time to figure that out. And since they already killed far too many walkers, the fact that they were inspecting this one in particular pretty much confirmed that this was not an ordinary walker.

Now before we delve further into speculating about what this creature might be, check out the scene down below.

If you look closely, you can see that a huge chunk of skin has been peeled off his face. It is almost as if someone did that on purpose.

And if you read the comics, you know there is only one group who wear the walkers' face as camouflage, and that's the Whisperers, the enemy Rick, and the rest, will face after the "All Out War."

Could this scene be the Whisperers Easter egg?

As we said, the Whisperers are the mysterious group of survivors that wear the walkers' skin as their way of living among the dead. They believe that by blending in with the walkers, they are living their lives like mother nature always intended. As a result of that, the Whisperers can control the walkers and use them as their minions. All in all, a fascinating group of people that will pose a serious threat to our heroes once the "All Out War" ends. But that's Season 9 stuff.

Now, back to the scene from the previous episode and the question of whether or not we've been introduced with the Whisperers.

It's important to note that producer Scott Gimple said that we may or may not see the Whisperers in Season 8, and if we do, it's going to be few and far between. And this scene fits perfectly with what he said. It's minor and certainly not something many people noticed.

But yet again, if you look closely at this walker, you can see that his skin is full of blisters from burns, while the rest of his face is intact. So his appearance might just be the result of some chemical attack. After all "The Walking Dead" Season 8 trailer shows that Ezekiel's group will encounter more of these walkers.

And you can also see Carol heading toward a lab. Take a look at the trailer below.

So all in all, the scene we are talking about might not be about the Whisperers at all. Luckily we don't have to wait long to find out as those scenes from the trailer will, almost certainly, take place in the next episode.
