It is no surprise to me that the Duggar family is not happy with Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard. Derick Dillard has recently been fired from the TLC reality television show “Counting On.” He was kicked off the show for making some transphobic comments online towards fellow transgender TLC reality star Jazz Jennings. Another reason why the Duggar family is probably not happy with Dillard’s Twitter presence is because of how he is begging for money online after being fired from the show. To hear these two reasons in more detail you can continue reading below.
Why the Duggar family don’t like Derick Dillard on social media
As mentioned above there are two main reasons why the Duggar family is unhappy with Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard. The first is because of his online bullying towards the transgender TLC star, Jazz Jennings. Jennings stars in her own reality show entitled, “I Am Jazz.” Dillard’s first online remark toward Jennings was a few months ago when he said, “Transgender is a myth as gender is not fluid but ordained by God.” He seemed to get a lot of criticism after that, which kept him quiet on the LGBT subject for a while.
Well, this month Dillard reignited the feud when he intentionally misgendered Jennings online. This is an excerpt from Dillard's recent online comment: “I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda.” That comment made TLC fire him since they don’t want to be associated with someone who makes transphobic remarks as it is bad for their network.
The other reason the Duggar family seems to be annoyed with Dillard is that since he got fired from the show, he can be seen begging for money online. Dillard is asking for $10,000 online, so he can finish his ministry education. One can imagine, the Duggar family isn’t happy with that because he is not going out there to work and instead he is begging for money online from other people.
Controversies surrounding Derick Dillard
As you can tell from above, Jill Duggar’s husband Derick Dillard is no stranger to controversy. The other bit of controversy surrounding the Duggar Family member, Derick Dillard, is about his alleged scamming online with Jill Duggar. Dillard went online to start a fundraiser for himself after Hurricane Harvey had just hit Houston.
Many people saw this as Dillard stealing money from the victims of the hurricane. This led to the website hosting the fundraising page to shut down the money grabbing attempt. They too saw it as selfish. With all of the reasons mentioned above, it is safe to say that the family is probably not happy with the Dillard’s online presence.
