Kit Harington talked about his proposal to his longtime girlfriend Rose Leslie as he recently graced “The Jonathan Ross Show.” The 30-year-old also revealed his plan for their upcoming wedding and it includes shutting down a day of “Game of Thrones” Season 8’s filming.
The actor, best known for his role as Jon Snow, even admitted that his proposal didn’t go the way he wanted to. Nevertheless, a true-to-life “GoT” wedding is about to come. While it won't be on television, that doesn't mean it won't capture the attention of fans around the world.
The unplanned proposal
“I did have some plans to do it,” Kit Harington told the host Jonathan Ross about his proposal to Rose Leslie, Daily Mail reported.
The “Game of Thrones” Season 8 star narrated that he planned to put some lights on the trees with some romantic stuff, but they were in the country. As they were under a beautiful night sky, he couldn't control himself with the scenery of a bonfire and red wine, so he popped the question immediately. Originally, he intended to do it a day after he uncontrollably proposed.
Harington and Leslie announced their engagement in a very traditional way. It was published in The Times newspaper in September. Ross then asked the soon-to-be-married if his bride-to-be will consider a “GoT”-themed wedding.
“No. There is absolutely no chance of me convincing her of that,” he said.
Shutting down a day of filming
Now that Kit Harington is going to marry Rose Leslie, who played the role of Ygritte from the show’s second to the fourth season, it is now a big question if it is going to affect “Game of Thrones” Season 8.
The “Pompeii” star revealed that he called the television show’s producers to tell them about his plan on his wedding day.
He wanted the producers to set the schedules of the series’ cast members and crew, so they could all attend his big day, per Daily Express.
He even blamed them for getting married as he had met the love of his life on the show. “I think for the final season he is so stressed that he’s reached that peaceful level,” he added.
As a “GoT” wedding will take place, he demanded that the cast and staff should be there, so they have to “shut down” the filming.
A coming table-read
In other news, Kit Harington revealed that the table-read for “Game of Thrones” Season 8’s episodes is about to take place.
He confessed that he still doesn’t know a thing about the season finale. “I genuinely don’t,” he insisted. He even made fun of the reality that the television show’s hair and makeup artists, and horse riding team already know what is going to happen. But, the major actors themselves don't have a clue about it.
