It's incredible that Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) has found a new love interest on "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14. It's awesome that there was an immediate spark between her and Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) but let's not forget about the fact that Arizona had one true love and she's not dead. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) remains a fan favorite when it comes to the pediatric surgeon's past relationships.
In Shondaland, Callie Torres is in New York with her new found love Penny Blake (Samantha Sloyan). But fans are not giving up because Arizona and Callie have a daughter who is currently with Callie now.
Sooner or later, their daughter Sophia will have to return to Seattle and be with Arizona who won custody of the child despite Callie being her biological mother.

Yes, Sophia Robbin Sloan Torres is the great connection between Arizona and Callie. It's undeniable, it's pertinent, and it's a lingering issue that will make its way to "Grey's Anatomy" in the future. While both characters have seemed to move on, the fleeting relationships of Arizona after her marriage ended is an indication that she's not destined to have a permanent partner, not even at the expense of the enigmatic Dr. Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) who "ghosted" Arizona in the new season.
The unique way Arizona showed Callie interest and the incident that led to Callie being the one chasing Arizona is what makes their relationship unique.
The ups and downs of their relationship and the vivid way they parted and Sophia conceived brought all the drama in the Robbins-Torres household to a new level.

But if fans are looking for another indication that Callie Torres may return to Seattle; Shonda Rhimes never killed her character. When Sara Ramirez opted out on "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13, Shonda felt compelled to create a storyline that is fitting and surprisingly it wasn't death but a mere "temporary" absence from the scene.
Some of the biggest characters in the show were given the "dead" treatment when they left. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), and George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) were all dead but not Callie.
But Jessica Capshaw in her previous interview with the Variety said: "I have zero ideas. I have no idea. I’ve never been in the loop with any of that. I think anything is possible, right?” So there you go, Callie Torres may return because anything is possible!
