“Supergirl” season 3, episode 2 ended with three major female characters meeting up at CatCo. Best of friends Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) finally saw Samantha Arias (Odette Annable) face to face, and things seem to be going well for them.
It can be recalled that Lena bought CatCo to prevent Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar) from doing so, then, she visited the media company in episode 2. However, she still has L-Corp to deal with so Lena hired Sam to take charge in her Luthor Company. Viewers all know who’s Sam is going to be in the future.
With the current situation, it is safe to say that Lena and Supergirl will experience major conflicts in the future once Sam becomes Reign; the main villain she is destined to be.
Lena’s possible reaction with Supergirl’s true identity
Katie McGrath entered the second season to play her titular role, and until now, she has no idea that her best friend Kara Danvers is Supergirl. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McGrath was asked whether her character will get stuck between Reign and Supergirl or not. She answered, “I do not know if she’ll ever be stuck in the middle of Kara and Samantha because she still is never going to know.”
There are only two situations McGrath described that could possibly happen: getting stuck between Supergirl and Reign; Samantha and Supergirl.
Arrowverse shows usually have this culture of revealing superhero’s true identity early in the series. It’s to avoid awkward incidents that could turn serious stuff into a comedic scenario. Now that they’re bringing back this element to the show, payback is certainly set to happen the entire time they’ve kept Lena in the dark.
She could feel betrayed, making her doubt herself once again saying lines like, "I’m not worth trusting because I’m a Luthor."
Episode 3
We got this Covered reported that “Supergirl” Season 3 will continue this week with episode 3 entitled “Far from the three.” This episode is going to be a must watch for the fans of the Green Martian Manhunter J’onzz (David Harewood).
It will also mark the return of M’gann (Sharon Leal). Aside from the reunion of the Martian couple, viewers are going to witness the return of J’onzz’s father, M’yrnn J’onzz (Carl Lumbly).
At the moment, we have no idea if his return calls for a celebration. It can be recalled that M’gann asked J’onzz (using telepathy) to return to Mars with a sense of urgency as if something bad has happened. Whether his father is causing trouble or not, nothing is for sure. Furthermore, “Supergirl” Season 3 episode 3 will air on October 23.
