An engaged couple is yet to be seen in “Supergirl” season 3. According to International Business Times, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) and (Floriana Lima) were wearing couple rings during the shoot of Season 3, Episode 1.
HollywoodNorth.buzz has released several images showing Lima and Leigh with matching rings on their fingers. Well, it can be recalled in the final episode of season 2 that Alex Danvers asked Maggie to marry her. Therefore, high are the chances that Alex and Maggie are married, or already engaged in the premiere of season 3.
Why Alex Danvers asked Maggie Sawyer for marriage
The finale episode of season 2 was a tough one for the characters. Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), the girl of steel, had lost the most important man in her life. Mike, who is portrayed by Chris Wood, had to leave the earth due to life and death circumstances that would have killed him if he stayed.
While it is a relief that the prince of Daxam, Mike, is alive somewhere, there is no guarantee of his return. This, of course, brought so much pain to Kara. At that very moment, Alex realized she had to do something for the most valuable person in her life, and that involved marrying Maggie.

The struggles they have experienced led them to think some things through.
Kara’s cousin, the Superman, is one of the people who admired her courage to give up the person she loved most for the safety of humans. The man of steel told Kara that even he, himself, might never choose someone else's safety over Lois Lane. In the end, many believed that Alex and Maggie were on another level in their relationship.
Floriana Lima demoted in ‘Supergirl’ season 3
Despite the possible marriage or engagement of the lesbian couple, viewers will still see less of them in the upcoming season. According to Andrew Kreisberg, Lima has been demoted from being a series regular to a recurring cast.
“Although she is not available to us as a series regular next season, we’re happy she’ll be returning for multiple episodes in Season 3,” Kreisberg said.
He added that Lima decided to pursue other opportunities while participating less in season 3. Viewers may expect some changes in the story that drifts away from the Sanver couple.
Lima expressed her gratitude in an interview at the 28th GLAAD Media Awards ceremony towards the fans that are continuously looking forward to the Alex and Maggie story. Stay tuned for more “Supergirl” season 3 updates.
