Harvey Weinstein may have helped Skeet Ulrich in his acting breakthrough with "Scream" in 1996, but that does not mean the actor will be tight-lipped on the sexual assault allegations pressed against the producer in the past couple of weeks. In fact, the "Riverdale" alum admitted that he is aware of the issues since he started working with the movie mogul three decades ago.

He frankly said that most people knew about the allegations and revealed that a famous personality has told him similar things about the Hollywood producer.

Actor comments about Harvey Weinstein scandal

The fear of losing his job in the industry has held Skeet Ulrich back to come forward and expose Harvey Weinstein for his alleged sexual misconducts toward female employees and celebrities. The former "Law & Order" star also thought there was nothing he could do about the allegations pressed against someone who is powerful in the industry.

"I can't step up, certainly then, on allegations. Honestly, and I think it's what most people faced: How do you cut your livelihood from a very powerful corporation on something that you don't know what the facts are?" Skeet Ulrich continued.

The 47-year-old actor added that he is now relieved that a lot of victims are speaking out to share their traumatic experience with the producer.

He also suggested that this kind of incident is prevalent not only in the Hollywood but also in other industries.

Celebrities speak out on the issue of sexual assault

Skeet Ulrich's "Scream" co-star, Rose Mcgowan, was among those who have alleged Harvey Weinstein of rape in light of the scandal. The actress took to social media to share her own experience of sexual assault and how certain people helped the producer covered up the alleged incident.

Sallie Hofmeister, a representative of Harvey Weinstein, has denied any type of non-consensual sex after three other women claimed the producer raped them.

The ongoing scandal and the increasing number of women speaking out on the alleged sexual misconducts of the movie mogul have inspired celebrities to come forward and raise awareness about the issue.

Similarly, Alyssa Milano started the #MeToo campaign to encourage victims of sexual assault to shed light on the matter.

Some are also using their voice and influence to discuss the common reasons why most victims choose not to speak up about the horror they have experienced.
