The latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Thor: Ragnarok” already hit cinemas outside of the United States, and a number of fans had the chance to see the new "Thor" movie. Just like any Marvel movie, there were post-credit scenes that gave hints at the other upcoming Marvel films.
“Thor: Ragnarok” made its official premiere in Los Angeles earlier this month, and shortly after that, it was released in a number of other countries. However, the movie has yet to hit theaters all over the United States starting from November 3.
A supervillain ready to wreak havoc
The first post-credit scene revealed in “Thor: Ragnarok” took place shortly after Thor claimed his rightful throne as Asgard’s new ruler. Since the movie emphasized that Asgard is where its people are, Thor and Loki have taken refuge in a huge Sakaarian spaceship they stole from the Grandmaster.
Their destination is Earth, and Thor has decided to bring the people of Asgard to seek refuge on this planet. However, Loki is having doubts of setting foot again on Earth, since he was once the planet greatest enemy.
Thor reassured him that things will work out somehow, and as the two shared a moment of brotherly love, an unidentified massive spaceship hovered over their ride.
The first post-credit scene ended there, but fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe already knew that it was Thanos's spaceship.
Since 2012, the Marvel films have been hinting towards the appearance of Thanos as one of the biggest adversaries of the universe, leading the Avengers to combine forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The first post-credit scene in “Thor: Ragnarok” didn’t just confirm that Thanos was coming, but it also pointed out that the supervillain was terribly close to his destination now.
Fans have to wait for several months more before they can finally see “Avengers: Infinity War,” which is scheduled to premiere on May 4, 2018, in the United States.
The Grandmaster's return
The second and last post-credit scene unveiled in “Thor: Ragnarok” revisited the artificial planet created by the Grandmaster called Sakaar. The scene focused on a wreckage of a spaceship that crashed and revealed the Grandmaster emerging from it.
He found himself surrounded by his people, and suddenly said “It’s a tie!” to quell their emotions over the rebellion that just took place. It’s uncertain if the Grandmaster will be coming back in the other Marvel movies, but the scene's significance pointed to the fact that he’s still alive.
Marvel fans would know that the Grandmaster is one of the Elders, and the bonus scene had fans hoping that Jeff Goldblum’s character would someday meet up with another Elder, who is the Collector portrayed by Benicio del Toro.
