Gilbert Arenas won a huge victory in court this week, if you want to call it a win. According to Bossip, the former NBA star will see a significant reduction in Child support payments made to Laura Govan. The pair met up in Los Angeles Family Court to determine if changes should be made to the amount of child support that Arenas was paying to Govan for their four children.

The pair met up in Los Angeles Family Court to determine if changes should be made to the amount of child support that Arenas was paying to Govan for their four children. Judge Mark A.

Juhas reportedly agreed to lower the child support amount despite reports that both sides did not adequately disclose their income.

The income breakdown

Laura Govan reported earnings of $40,000 for her her appearance on "The Next 15," a short-lived reality show featuring washed-up reality TV celebrities. Laura was also paid for promoting Fit Tummy Tea on Instagram as well as other random social media appearances an a measly $500 per month for promoting the "Shop In Real Life" website.

On the other hand, Gilbert Arenas reported that he currently has no income after losing his NBA contract, where the basketball start was previously making more than $719,000 per year.

A huge child support reduction for Gilbert Arenas

After all was said and done, the judge decided to go ahead and reduce the child support amount paid monthly to Laura Govan. Instead of receiving $20,000 per month, she'll now only be getting $7,000. Despite saving a whopping $13,000 per month in payments to his ex, this was not a total win for Arenas.

The child support adjustment was filed back in October 2016 and normally, changes such as this would be retroactive to the date of the filing. However, the judge wasn't convinced that Gilbert Arenas disclosed his total earnings either. Due to that, he opted not to make the changes retroactive.

Gilbert also won as far as the school tuition is concerned.

The judge ruled that Laura needs to help pay for the education of their children as well. he also said that the reality star would need to pull in an income and assist financially rather than counting on child support for everything.

The child support reduction was all part of a bigger lawsuit brought against Laura Govan by Gilbert Arenas. The former NBA star accused Laura of defamation and even won a settlement for it. So while Gilbert is legally ordered to pay Laura child support for their four children, she also has to pay him for leaking informationn to blogs about STDs that she claims he gave her while they were together.

It's no secret that Laura Govan has also accused her sister, Gloria Govan, of sleeping with Gilbert Arenas at some point as well.
