Kumail Nanjiani will be the host of the next "Saturday Night Live" on October 14. Nanjiani stars on the HBO comedy series, "Silicon Valley." The show is about five guys who created a startup company in Silicon Valley, CA. The award-winning show has four seasons under its belt with a fifth on the way in 2018. October 14 will be the first time that Nanjiani takes the stage at 30 Rock to host the late night sketch comedy show.

'SNL' Episode 3

Saturday will be the third episode of season 43 of "SNL." The first two episodes of the new season were hosted by Ryan Gosling on the season premiere and then Gal Gadot served as host for last week's episode.

Over the summer, a movie co-written by Nanjiani was released. The film, called "The Big Sick," was written by Nanjiani and his wife of ten years, Emily Gordon. The pair said that the romantic comedy was loosely based on how they met. The movie also stars Holly Hunter and Ray Romano.

Musical guest

P!nk will be the musical guest on this week's "Saturday Night Live." The 38-year-old musician recently released her seventh studio album titled "Beautiful Trauma." The album will be released on October 13 and is a follow up to her GRAMMY-winning album from 2012, "The Truth About Love."

There is a huge world tour to follow that will kick off on March 1 in Phoenix, AZ. The "Beautiful Trauma" tour will make stops in nearly forty different cities with shows in St.

Louis, Toronto, Cleveland, Boston, Washington D.C., Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego, and more. The tour will conclude on June 2 at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA.

With the new album and tour, P!nk has had a busy, and successful, year so far. In August she was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the "2017 MTV Video Music Awards." The award is a huge honor and is presented to those who have made an enormous impact in the music industry.

After being presented the award by Ellen Degeneres, the singer gave a moving acceptance speech about self-acceptance and her daughter.

Some past winners of the Video Vanguard Award include Madonna, George Michael, Janet Jackson, U2, Justin Timberlake, and Beyonce. The award began back in 1984 at the very first "MTV Video Music Awards." David Bowie, The Beatles, and Richard Lester were the recipients of the inaugural Video Vanguard Award.

October 14 marks P!ink's third appearance on "SNL." The superstar appeared on the show in January of 2002 and December of 2003. The way that her career is going, it is likely that she will appear on "Saturday Night Live" many more times in the future.
