Kendall Jenner got some pieces of sisterly advice from Kim Kardashian over her Pepsi ad controversy back in April. In the latest episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" on Sunday, the 21-year-old fashion model recounted the backlash she received after the TV commercial was released.

Pepsi slammed over Kendall ad

"I just feel really, really bad. I feel really bad that anyone was ever offended," she told her older sister. "I feel really bad that this was taken such a wrong way and I genuinely feel like s--t. I have no idea how I'm gonna bounce back from it."

Kim Kardashian then told Kendall Jenner to learn from the experience and to get back on her feet regardless of what happened.

"I know you're so sensitive and I know you're the last person to want to hurt someone or be insensitive," she said.

She went on, "It should affect you in a way where you grow from it and you're like, "Okay I'm a better person from it." You know? But I just wish that you could see that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that it will be okay if you're just like honest."

Kendall Jenner, on the other hand, turned emotional while explaining her thoughts on the controversy. The runway model insisted that it was not her intention to offend or hurt anyone with the project. "I would, obviously, if I knew this was gonna be the outcome I would have never done something like this," she sobbed.

The internet reacts to Pepsi's protest-themed commercial

Many people accused the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star of "trivializing" political resistance on her protest-themed commercial. In the said TV ad, Kendall Jenner appeared in a crowd of young people to give out Pepsi cans to protesters and policemen.

The Pepsi ad was deemed disrespectful to civil rights movements, particularly to Black Lives Matter, that campaign against oppression, violence, and racism.

Despite the backlash, Kris Jenner extended her gratitude to Pepsi for choosing her daughter for the project.

The momager even said that she is proud of Kendall Jenner for becoming the new face of the gigantic company.

Pepsi, on the other hand, argued that the controversial advertisement was meant to "[reflect] the people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony." The company eventually pulled the TV commercial and apologized for causing outrage.

It also extended its apologies to Kendall Jenner who was placed in hot water for her participation in the ad. In fact, the whole controversy has taken its toll on the model who felt devastated by the backlash. "We're not perfect, but you see these things in the media, like Kendall and her Pepsi ad, where I see her at home crying," Kim Kardashian shared.
