In an interview with ComicCon, Cunningham said, the cast and crew members have officially begun filming, season 8.
He further added that the show’s filming will probably end in the summer of 2018, reports IGN. He said that they did their first table read on Sunday, 8 October. They are going to discuss the first three episodes. The second table reading will take place on Monday, 9 October. They are scheduled to begin rehearsals immediately after that. Following which, the shooting for the same will begin as well. He also told the audience gathered at the New York Comic Con event that he has been sent all the scripts of “Game of Thrones” season 8. There are six scripts in total. Even though, the number of episodes are small this time – their duration is going to be much longer than the ones from the previous season.

Season 7 was a success
“Game of Thrones” season 7 was by far the highest viewed season. The segment concluded at a major cliffhanger point. Night King along with his Dead Army and Ice Dragon was seen taking The Wall down.
Meanwhile, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were intimate with each other. Neither of them is aware of Snow’s true identity. Bran Stark did the honors of revealing Snow’s identity. He confirmed that his parents, Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen had actually gotten married. This makes Snow the legitimate heir of the Iron Throne.
It was also revealed that Cersei Lannister plans on betraying Jon Snow and Daenerys. At the same time, Jaime Lannister is not willing to be a part of this plan. Tyrion Lannister is also rumored to betray Dany. It remains to be seen what exactly takes place next. The filming will wrap up in summer next year and the post-production procedures will begin. Director Michel Sapochnik will reprise his duty as the showrunner for this season.
