“Game of Thrones” season 7 did well in terms of drawing viewership. The fans, however still criticized the show for endless leaks and speculations, which pretty much spoiled the plot for viewers. There were many occasions wherein key details about the show were revealed through a leak just days ahead of the launch. HBO is reportedly going to spend $15 million per episode for “Game of Thrones” season 8.
The show-runners surely don’t want to ruin it for the fans. With the objective to prevent plot leaks from ruining the experience for viewers, producers are planning on shooting Multiple Endings to the show.
This idea is pretty interesting as it hasn’t been explored before.
But, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – who plays the character of Jaime Lannister in “Game of Thrones” – thinks that it is really stupid to shoot multiple endings.
What Coster-Waldau has to say
According to a report by The Sun, the actor feels that it is going to end up costing a lot more than one can imagine. If they shoot multiple endings then it will take them a longer period of time to complete the series. This will cause delay and postponements in the show.
In an interview with Marie Claire, he admitted that he thinks it would be “really stupid” for the show-runners to even consider it. He said that he refuses to believe these rumors.
He thinks that they are not true.
The actor also admitted that he hasn’t read the script yet. The producers will obviously reveal the show’s several endings to the actors first. If they plan on carrying out such an exercise, they will discuss the ideas with the actors, too. But nothing of this sort has taken place till date, Coster-Waldau admitted.
Rumors regarding the shows' end
HBO Head of Programming Casey Bloys recently admitted that they weren’t going to provide any information regarding the show’s ending even to the actors. He admitted that they are going to shoot multiple endings, but nobody will know what will happen next. Bloys further added that such things usually take place on long shows.
But because it is being shot and people involved are aware of it, they plan on shooting multiple versions. They will never know which version they are going to be using.
“Game of Thrones” season 8 will be the final season and is going to premiere in 2019. The exact date hasn’t been announced yet. According to WinterIsComing, the cast and crew members of the TV series have already begun shooting in Spain.
