This week's episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 5 saw the return of Andy Samberg's Jake Peralta and Stephanie Beatriz's Rosa Diaz to the precinct following a few months in jail. The dirty cop Lt. Melanie Hawkins was finally put behind bars thanks to a tip from Seamus Murphy (guest star Paul Adelstein of "Prison Break"), but it seems that won't be the last viewers will see of Murphy. After he offered Amy (Melissa Fumero) a tip on how to finally catch Hawkins, it was Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) who ultimately sacrificed his career just to get Jake and Rosa out of jail.

But let's focus on the positive here. Now that the two are back in their rightful places, it seems that Rosa will be dealing with some personal issues in an upcoming episode, which will see the return of guest star Jason Mantzoukas as Adrian Pimento.

Rosa wants to move forward with her life

In an upcoming episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 5, Rosa will question herself about what she's really doing with her life. Stephanie Beatriz told Entertainment Weekly that "Everybody on the squad is moving forward in their lives," citing examples such as Jake and Amy moving in together, Charles finally adopting a son, and Gina expecting a baby with Charles' cousin (played by Ryan Phillippe). Rosa has had time to reflect on getting engaged to Adrian Pimento, then calling off the wedding.

Beatriz explained, "Rosa is looking around at everyone in her squad and thinking, ‘Why am I not moving forward? What’s going on with me?’ and that makes her really question her relationship with Adrian."

Analyzing the relationship

Rosa and Adrian's relationship may be a passionate one, given the letters Rosa wrote to him from jail, but it seems that she has taken time to think about what she really wants from it.

In an upcoming episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 5, Rosa will "try to pull [the relationship] apart and figure out why it doesn’t seem like the right fit for her." This might come as good news for some fans who don't see Adrian as a good fit for Rosa. Some fans want Rosa to be bisexual, and even "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez wants to play Rosa's girlfriend on the show.

Nonetheless, what Rosa makes out of her relationship with Adrian remains to be seen when "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 5 returns to television on Tuesdays at 9:30 PM on FOX. The Dan Goor and Michael Schur-created series stars Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, and Chelsea Peretti.
