"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Andy Samberg welcomed a daughter with his wife, Joanna Newsom and he recently dropped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to talk about life after having his first child. The 39-year old actor and comedian opened up about how his friends used to tell him that having kids would be a "magical experience" and that it would be "heaven" to have children, but the moment the child arrives, everything is just "a world of sh--!"

Samberg shared that it was great to go back to work on the FOX comedy, which premiered with its fifth season this week.

PEOPLE reported that according to Samberg, "It worked out okay because it was the offseason from the show. But I'm back now and it's wonderful. You get to work and everyone's like, 'Can I get you anything? Do you want food? Do you want me to not pee on you?"

Andy Samberg on that one thing he'll never do for his daughter

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Andy Samberg also talked about that one thing he would never do for his daughter, which is to make slime. Slime is all the rage among children nowadays and both Samberg and Jimmy Kimmel recalled how when they were younger, they would just purchase their own "slime in a can." Nonetheless, the actor is thankful that his daughter isn't "crying all the time," as he told Us Weekly.

He did admit, however, that like any new dad, he's only "sleeping a little bit" and that "I’m too sleepy for remembering memories."

Will art imitate life in the Nine-Nine?

Andy Samberg is currently starring in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" as Det. Jake Peralta, who is currently in jail for a crime he did not commit. Jake is currently dating Amy, played by Melissa Fumero, who also had her first child in March last year.

In the fifth season of the FOX comedy, viewers will get to see Samberg struggle to get out of jail and apprehend the real culprit, Lt. Melanie Hawkins, who is played by Gina Gershon. In next week's episode, Gershon will return to guest star, and so will Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Romero, Jake's in-jail protector who loves Picante beef ramen.

Samberg also recently appeared in "Tour de Pharmacy" on HBO, a sports mockumentary along the lines of "7 Days in Hell." The actor is also set to lend his voice once more to "Hotel Transylvania 3," which hits theaters in 2018. Samberg is currently seen on FOX's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," the Golden Globe Award-winning show that airs every Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. Check out the recap of the season premiere here.
