“Agents of SHIELD” Season 5 is the most awaited comeback on ABC but it seems like fans won’t be seeing more of Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider. However, avid fans of the show would still be delighted to know that the agents might be returning sooner than everyone is expecting.

At first, fans assumed that “Agents of SHIELD” is set to be aired next year, as the show was not part of the ABC network’s fall line up. Fortunately, instead of the expected post-winter midseason break, the series was hinted to return in a few months.

ABC President talks Season 5 possible airdate

According to Cinema Blend, ABC President Channing Dungey said, “It's going to come on right after ‘Inhumans.’ As soon as the eight episodes of Inhumans are done, then SHIELD will begin.” Of course, this is an announcement worth celebrating. If Mr. Dungey puts out the entire details this way, we will see two original comics in the flesh!

As the earlier source pointed out, SHIELD might hit the small screens in late November or early December. The series is going to showcase their life after AIDA’s (Mallory Jansen) death. In addition to this confirmation during Television Critics Association, Dungey also adds that the entire Season 5 will play out without any weekly interruptions.

The Marvel TV series will have 22 episodes. Fans can finally sit this year’s Christmas with the agents. On the other hand, “Inhumans” will be having a two-week run IMAX starting Sept. 1, 2017. The official airing schedule on ABC will begin on September 31. With Dungey’s confirmation, many are looking forward that the official announcement for the series' release will be unveiled soon.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ to cast Jeff Ward in Season 5

Moreover, “Manson’s Lost Girl” actor Jeff Ward will reportedly join the series for a key recurring role in the upcoming season. Unfortunately, the information for his role has not been revealed yet. According to Deadline, his role will cause a major multi-episode arc.

The rest of the cast members that will be featured are Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson; Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons; Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz; Jason O’Mara as Director Jeffrey Mace and Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May. Avid viewers may look forward to “Agents of SHIELD” Season 5 addressing cliffhanger issues from the previous season.
