Zayn Malik shaves his head completely bald

Male pop singer Zayn Malik surprised fans as he shaved his head completely bald. His mother, Trisha Malik posted a photo of her son’s new hairdo on Instagram. The post was captioned with three heart emoticons.

The Instagram image included his girlfriend Gigi Hadid and Trisha was shown kissing her son’s clean-shaven head. This is the first time that the former One Direction member sported a hairstyle that is completely bald. Despite the fact that the singer has been changing his hairdo every once in a while, this is something new and daring that fans have not seen yet.

'Mr. Clean'

His new hairstyle trended on social media, with some netizens seeing some similarities to the well-known consumer brand, Mr. Clean. Others quipped by writing "rest in peace" messages, alluded to Malik's old hairdo.

Social media user Jack Wood wrote, “Just had to add Zayn Malik’s freshly shaven head to the list of things that are brighter than my future.” Other fans came at his defense though, with one netizen saying that he just looks beautiful regardless of his hairdo, and added that they just wanted him to be happy.

New songs

The “Pillowtalk” singer was recently seen celebrating the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha alongside Gigi Hadid and her family. He has Pakistani roots, while the Hadid family traces back their background from Palestine.

He is also set to release new songs this week. The male artist announced on Instagram that the first single from his second album is going to be released on September 7. The song is titled “Dusk Till Dawn,” featuring the performance of another singer Sia. This female singer has been known for her songs such as "Chandelier" and "Cheap Thrills."

There were also details revealed about the song’s music video.

He said that the video will feature the female celebrity, Jemima Kirke. A short clip of the music video was released as a teaser last September 3 on Instagram.

It showed Malik driving a car, and then a hidden image of a woman holding a briefcase was shown. A scene featuring the ignition of what appeared to be a dynamite was also revealed in the teaser video.

New hairdo

The bald, shaved style seemed to be a trending style among male celebrities. Men’s style magazine GQ reported that even Robert Pattinson shaved his head semi-bald. He unveiled his new form at the Deauville American Film Festival recently held in France.

But unlike Malik’s, it was a semi-bald cut with a white blond area at the front. The patch was applied via artificial means or by bleaching, GQ added.
