Fans of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series are thrilled for the upcoming release of “The Winds Of Winter” book despite the countless delays. “A Dance with Dragons,” which is the series’ fifth installment, was published in 2011.
George RR Martin has a hectic schedule, so he is still uncertain about when “The Winds of Winter” will hit the shelves. The veteran author also shared that he writes slower now than before.
George reveals main reason behind ‘TWOW’ delays
Speaking to Metro, George RR Martin claimed that his age is one of the many factors that caused the delays of “The Winds of Winter” novel.
The New Mexican writer said he is in no rush to hit a particular deadline.
"I did not start to write slower over the years," George told the publication. In addition, I have not become younger. Age does not add enthusiasm,” the brain behind the popular “Game of Thrones” series went on.
George RR Martin has been working on “The Winds of Winter” for six years already. However, up until now, the author still does not have a concrete answer about its official launch date.
He teased that the HBO series and the novels will go separately. “On the screen characters are killed right and left. About twenty of them have died already, which is quite alive to me and will appear in a new book,” George told Metro.
Additionally, the veteran author divulged that various studios in Hollywood first showed interest in “A Song of Ice and Fire” series following the feat Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings.” George added that “Game of Thrones” could have become a film.
Cersei Lannister is not pregnant despite her previous claim
Meanwhile, a number of Reedit users claimed that Cersei Lannister is not pregnant.
They said that she is starting her menopause.
“As menopause and pregnancy share a lot of the same symptoms, for example, missed periods, feelings of bloating, mood swings and weight gain, could it be that Cersei is currently going through the menopause, but she and everyone else believes that she is pregnant?” one user said.
Another Reedit user claimed Cersei could possibly be just faking her pregnancy to give Tyrion a reason to accept the truce and keep Jaime close at the same time.
While these theories could be true, it should be noted that HBO has yet to confirm or deny these speculations.
“Game of Thrones” Season 8 is predicted to return to small screens in 2019. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates about George RR Martin’s “The Winds of Winter” novel.
