Royals fans are once again getting excited as Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle were spotted together on the tarmac in South Africa. The African getaway is reportedly the couple’s way to celebrate Markle’s 36th birthday. Apart from the celebration, the recent sighting of the couple has also sparked engagement rumors.

Just a month ago, the 32-year-old British royal made headlines when several publications ran a story about a close friend who hinted at the possibility of a looming engagement and a royal wedding.
As previously reported, Harry’s pal, Kirstie Ennis, has apparently suggested the prince’s upcoming wedding when she said that she’s more worried about the “after-party.” In addition, many tabloids also hinted that Prince William’s brother might also ask Markle’s hand in marriage before his 33rd birthday on Sept. 15.
African proposal
Prior to their South African trip, Markle reportedly celebrated her birthday in London last week. That is why many have speculated about her upcoming engagement to the royal bachelor, especially when the “Suits” actress was accompanied by her mother.
The rumors, however, intensified when the couple was seen “walking arm-in-arm” on the tarmac in South Africa on Saturday.
What’s more interesting is the fact that Kate Middleton’s brother-in-law was spotted in a happy mood as he smiled and gave the onlookers a “thumbs-up.”

Africa is reportedly very special to Prince Harry.
In fact, he considers the continent as his “second home,” where he can enjoy life privately. Since the country holds a memorable meaning to the fifth in line to the British throne, many speculated that the prince might be planning a romantic African proposal for Markle.
As per a royal insider, the African vacay has long been planned by the prince.
The couple is apparently very serious with each other as they have already dated for more than a year.
Markle’s birthday
Even though we are hoping for a royal engagement, the said trip was intended for Markle’s 36th birthday celebration. According to InStyle, the couple arrived in South Africa the day after the actress’ birthday, which was on Aug. 4.
Sources also claimed Markle was spotted holding birthday gifts as she got off from the plane. Furthermore, the lovebirds were reportedly got cozy and were seen kissing on the tarmac. There were also reports saying they went out on a safari date.
Settling down
Reports about settling down are nothing new to Prince Harry, who has previously expressed his thoughts on getting married.
In a 2015 interview with Parade, he admitted his desires to settle down and have kids but stressed that marriage isn’t really that easy, saying there are a lot of things to settle before getting married.
Invictus Games
Meanwhile, if the proposal won’t happen in Africa, there are still other events that will give Harry an opportunity to pop the question. One will be during his birthday next month and the other will be at the Invictus Games in Toronto on Sept. 23 to 30, which might be the perfect venue for the proposal since the place is the hometown of his girlfriend, Meghan Markle.
