Film project - 'Loved'
Madonna shared details of her film project, “Loved” at the beginning of the year when she spoke with Harper’s Bazaar magazine. “Loved” is a film adapted from the novel, “The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells,” written by Andrew Sean Greer.
Madonna explained during the interview why she decided to pursue the film project. The singer said “Loved” touches many issues that she has always advocated and championed, such as women’s rights, gay rights, and civil rights.
Though people may argue that she is an extremely successful individual, Madonna said in the interview “I’ve had the s— kicked out of me for my entire career.” The singer attributed those negative treatments to being a female and living a life that many views as unconventional.
She said that she created a very unconventional family and had younger lovers, which made “people very uncomfortable.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Madonna’s current film project “Loved” will be her first directorial effort since “W.E.,” a historical romantic drama released in 2011. The drama shed light on King Edward VIII’s abdication of the British throne in order to marry the love of his life, American divorcée Wallis Simpson.
The singer also co-wrote the script for the film.
Unfortunately, "W.E." was not well received by critics and did not make money at the box office.
Her music project
Madonna making new music is definitely a great news for her fans. Her 13th album, “Rebel Heart” was released more than two years ago. This September, Madonna is set to release a live DVD and CD album of “Rebel Heart.”
