Though people may argue that she is an extremely successful individual, Madonna said in the interview “I’ve had the s— kicked out of me for my entire career.” The singer attributed those negative treatments to being a female and living a life that many views as unconventional. She said that she created a very unconventional family and had younger lovers, which made “people very uncomfortable.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Madonna’s current film project “Loved” will be her first directorial effort since “W.E.,” a historical romantic drama released in 2011. The drama shed light on King Edward VIII’s abdication of the British throne in order to marry the love of his life, American divorcée Wallis Simpson. The singer also co-wrote the script for the film.

Unfortunately, "W.E." was not well received by critics and did not make money at the box office.
