Actress Gina Torres opened up to People on Wednesday that she and her Hollywood actor husband, Laurence Fishburne, 56, quietly split last fall following 14 years of marriage. Torres, 48, said it was with “heavy hearts” that the pair separated and prepared for their divorce in the fall of 2016. She went on to say that there were “no bad guys here,” adding that their love story just had a different ending than the one they expected.

However, Torres, known for her acting in “Suits” and “Westworld,” did add that their family “remains intact,” and that the couple will raise their daughter together with joy and love.

They will also support each other with love and respect, with the understanding that they are in this family together, despite not being side by side in the same home.

Fishburne (“Black-ish” and “The Matrix”) and Torres were married in 2002 and have one daughter, Delilah. Fishburne has two other children from his previous marriage to Hajna Moss -- Langston and Montana. Both actors have appeared together on the big and small screen on several occasions, including “The Matrix Reloaded,” and more recently as a married couple in the TV series “Hannibal.”

Mystery man spotted with Gina Torres identified

Page 6 notes that Torres has already moved on from her former romantic relationship and was recently spotted with what was considered at the time to be a “Mystery Man.” It turns out that she met Kevin Wright in Dana Point, California in mid-August this year and that they are now a serious couple.

According to that report, Wright wasn’t aware who the former “Firefly” actress was when they first met, however, they bonded due to the fact that they both suffered breakups after long relationships.

Wright reportedly divorced in recent years after 20 years of marriage.

Gina Torres finds love in a different type of guy

A close source told Page 6 that anyone who was married for a long time and suffers a split in the relationship tends to seek someone different from their ex. The source said in Torres’ case, the former real estate executive was the total opposite of a Hollywood type, adding that he is more of a “cowboy type” of guy.

They were spotted last week and photographed in a passionate embrace at a café in Los Angeles. It was after the image hit the media, showing her passionately kissing another man, that Torres finally announced her split from Fishburne to the world.
