“Hunger Games” actress Jennifer Lawrence stars in two upcoming movies set to challenge her acting prowess. She was recently part of “Mother!” which is a psychological drama movie by Darren Aronofsky, The Hollywood Reporter said.
In the upcoming psychological thriller, Lawrence was able to portray a character that has been suffering from a severe mental breakdown. The character challenged external forces of faith and religion as the movie’s storyline escalated.
The movie “Mother!” was a challenging stint for the actress who has previously portrayed action-themed roles.
The film also premiered at the 74th Venice International Film Festival and at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
Russian spy
Jennifer Lawrence looks stunning in the recently released trailer for her upcoming movie, “Red Sparrow.” This 20th Century Fox film features the “Hunger Games” actress as a Russian spy for a mission that she finds herself in, Rolling Stone reported. Lawrence plays a ballerina and a spy who is trained to utilize her body and mind as weapons as shown in the first teaser video for “Red Sparrow.”
“Red Sparrow,” tells the story of a young ballerina named Dominika Egorova whose life and career was challenged at one point. The threat that her mother received prompted her to join a secret Russian intelligence service that hones young people to defend themselves using their bodies.
Egorova crosses paths with a CIA agent who questions her principles and everything that she has learned in the past.
Some of the scenes revealed included the actress riding a train whilst participating in an undercover mission that involved swimmers. There was also a scene that showed young people training to become spies as they watched footage from actual assignments.
The movie is directed by Francis Lawrence, who reunites with Jennifer once again after directing the “Hunger Games” series. Justin Haythe and Eric Warren wrote the movie script.
Break for acting
Jennifer Lawrence revealed in a recent interview with “Today Show” that she is planning to take a break from acting. She told the host Savannah Guthrie that she has never had a break for two years.
When asked what she would do during her break from her acting career, she said she might start to do some pottery. She said, “I’ll see you in six months.” Business publication Forbes named Lawrence as one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood in 2015 and 2016.
