Many fans are now thrilled for the upcoming premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” season eight. The season seven finale episode ended with a major cliffhanger, and fans are now very eager to know the fate of Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin), who risked his life when the team attempted to rescue young girls who were trapped in a trafficking ring.

Two of the series’ original main cast members already quit the show due to payment issues. Now, new reports claim that the popular series is returning with fresh faces.

More characters in the new installment

CBC recently published teaser photos of the forthcoming “Hawaii Five-0” season eight premiere episode.

The photographs featured detective sergeants Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams (Scott Caan), along with the new members of their team.

Some fresh faces will replace Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) and Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park) in the upcoming new installment. Spoilers suggest that Steve and Danny will recruit Tani Rey (Meaghan Rath) to join the task force.

Detective sergeants Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams will need the help of Tani Rey after hacker Aaron Wright (Joey Lawrence) frees a treacherous arsonist from the penitentiary. Actors Beulah Koale and Ian Anthony Dale are also said to join the team.

CarterMatt also shared that Chris Vance is going to appear in the second episode of “Hawaii Five-0” season 8 as Harry Langford, a British spy.

He is said to help Steve and Danny solve a murder case.

“Five-0" enlists the help of an old friend when the boss of a major crime family is murdered, triggering revenge killings across the island,” the episode 2 synopsis reads.

“Also, McGarrett and Danny begin sorting out particulars in their new restaurant venture," the synopsis continues.

Another major character is reportedly leaving

Meanwhile, there are also rumors claiming that the CBS drama might lose yet another actor after Alex O’Loughlin expressed his decision to depart from the show. The 41-year-old star previously shared to Collider that doing stunts posed risks on his health.

“I’m worried that I won’t even be able to do that until the end of Season 8, but I’m going to keep swinging until I’m in the box,” Alex shared to the publication.

“I’ve been hurt really badly on this show. I’ve now got some serious back issues, which I’m going back and forth to California to deal with,” the Aussie star went on.

However, recent spoilers suggest that Alex O’Loughlin is totally coming back in “Hawaii Five-0” season 8. As a matter of fact, executive producer Peter Lenkov shared that Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams are going to open a restaurant in the upcoming new installment.

Hawaii Five-0” season 8 is scheduled to return to the small screen on October 6 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
