Model and celebrity Gigi Hadid suffered a wardrobe malfunction just before she walked on the runway during the New York Fashion Week, Fox News reported.
In the video shared by entertainment website TMZ, Hadid was seen in walking professionally and glamorously on the runway. However, the clip also revealed that the strap of her heel broke before she entered the stage. The female model was not able to fix this, so she walked without wearing this part on her outfit.
Fox News reported that Hadid graced the stage during the show of designer Anna Sui.
She was wearing a gold-colored gown paired with a pink-colored shawl on top of her body. The heels, which were supposed to be part of the entire look, were golden heels ornamented with glitters.
Strong walk
Despite the mishap, Gigi Hadid was able to walk just as graceful and proud during the show by Anna Sui. The TMZ video also revealed the fashion show’s curtain call where she was seen smiling and enjoying the applause from the crowd.
Sui’s collections are part of the September edition of the New York Fashion Week. According to her profile on the official website, her style for this season takes inspiration from Finnish fabric, “Warhol superstars and Victorian cowboys.” These styles were seen on the dresses that the female supermodel wore in her controversial appearance.
The New York Fashion Week will run until September 13.
Upcoming show
Gigi Hadid is slated to participate in the upcoming Victoria's Secret fashion show to be held later this year. The much-anticipated runway show of the lingerie brand will happen in Shanghai, China. It will be the first time the company will hold its annual show in the East Asian country.
The renowned female model has announced her selection during the casting of the models for the Victoria's Secret fashion show. She made her personal announcement via her official Instagram account. She will be walking alongside her sister Bella Hadid who also sent her personal thoughts on social media.
Hadid has also recently been placed amid controversies and criticisms, accusing her of being racist toward Asians, particular the Chinese community.
It came from a video posted on Twitter that showed her mocking the Chinese Buddha cookie.
In the video, she was shown with her friends dining in a restaurant while she carried the cookie beside her face and imitated the Buddha image by squinting her eyes. This angered the community and told her that she would not be welcome in China during the upcoming fashion show.
