The much-awaited season premiere of “Dancing With The Stars” kicked off Monday night with the debut performances from the celebrity contestants. While some got lower scores than the other contenders, there are others who wowed the judges in the first episode, ABC News reported.

From the opening billboard to the final act of the night, “Dancing With The Stars” Season 25 proved to be a must-watch show this year. The opening video showed a pair of dancers stuck in the middle of a desert, as judge Len Goodman picked them up on a caddy vehicle to take them to a place called “Dancetown USA.”

Then, all of the contestants for this season – both the celebrities and the dance pros – entered the scene dancing in their black and silver costume ensemble.

They were introduced in pairs as they moved to the beat of “Dancing In The Street” by electronic music artist District 78.

In the opening billboard alone, there were remarkable scenes already such as WWE wrestling pro Nikki Bella’s entrance from the gym and NBA player Derek Fisher’s basketball game with his co-stars. There was also a scene showing businesswoman Barbara Corcoran buying a house from “Property Brothers” star Drew Scott.

The opening scenes ended with a flash mob performance with the crowd. The video faded through all of this year’s contestants entering the premiere night stage.

Lindsey Stirling leads the pack

YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling took on the dance floor from her career as a violinist, earning a high number of views from her fans.

This time, she also earned highest scores from the judges.

Along with two-time “Dancing With The Stars” champion Mark Ballas, Stirling got the highest number of points from among all the contestants after getting a total of 22 points. They danced the cha-cha which was described by Goodman as “the dance of the night,” ABC News reported.

They danced the cha-cha to the beat of “Don’t Worry” by Madcon featuring Ray Dalton. With an exciting showcase of footwork, Stirling was able to show international audiences that she is more than just an award-winning violin performer.

The duo tied with actor Jordan Fisher and dance pro Lindsay Arnold who performed tango, getting 22 points from the judges as well.

Fisher has a background in gymnastics and has been on stage as a Broadway actor, ABC News added.

Professional athletes

The athletes who are part of the 25th season also proved to be winners on the dance floor. Former NFL player Terrell Owens danced the cha-cha to the tune of “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” by Temptations, along with his partner Cheryl Burke. However, they got 15 points, one of the lowest scores during the season premiere.

WWE superstar Nikki Bella and partner Artem Chigvintsev danced the tango in Pink’s “So What.” They earned a score of 20 from the judges.
