Season 13 finale left us in tears as we first thought that Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) died in an explosion and later learned that she survived but decided to quit her job. Talking to Richard in the finale (James Pickens Jr.), she said : ''I've spent my whole life in hospitals. My whole life and I think I need to see everything that's not in a hospital'' (Season 13, episode 24). Sure, we understand her decision and the trauma she went through but we're sorry to lose such a bubbly and smart girl. Good luck, Steph, you'll be missed.

Season 13 ended hinting at many things that could happen in season 14.

Minnick is out

Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) got fired (can't really say we're sorry) and won't be back for the next season.She kind of played the role of an antagonist since Grey Sloan Memorial staff weren't really fond of her. Well, of course,except for Arizona, who was her love interest. Although they didn't officially break up, since Marika confirmed she won't appear in season 14, it probably means Arizona will be single and ready to mingle.

New faces

Season 13 left us in shock learning that Owen's sister, Megan Hunt was alive. Abigail Spencer, whom you might remember as Scottie from TV series Suits, joins the cast and replaces Bridget Regan as Megan. Megan coming back changes things for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Nathan (Martin Henderson).They have just started building a serious relationship and we can't wait to see what happens next.

Sure, Riggs is no McDreamy but we finally grew to like him a bit more and maybe even forgive Meredith for wanting to date again.

Deluca has a sister

Another new face in this season will be that of Deluca's sister. In an interview with Giacomo Gianniotti, he hinted that he's getting a sister on the show in this season. Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) will be a new doctor at Grey Sloan and Gianniotti reveals that Deluca will not be particularly happy with the situation but that the viewers will be able to get a new insight into his character with his sister's arrival.

He also reveals that they will speak a little Italian at the hospital so the show gets a bit of an international spirit.

Season 13 gave us a glance at Jo's abusive husband Paul Stadler (Matthew Morrison) when Alex kind of stalked him. Although fans hoped he would not find Jo (Camilla Luddington) so she and Alex (Justin Chambers) could finally work things out and move on happily in love.

However, Morrison confirmed he is coming back for season 14 and that his character will have a ''big role''. Fingers crossed for Jo and Alex!

Familiar faces

Teddy (Kim Raver) left us in season 8 after being through a lot. She fought being in love with Owen (Kevin McKidd), lost her husband Henry (Scott Kellerman Foley) and finally took a job at the United States Army Medical Command. She was mentioned in season 13 finale as the one who confirmed Megan had been found alive. Raver returns as a guest star and what Teddy's comeback will mean for Owen and Amelia's (Caterina Scorsone) marriage is left for us to see.
