Val Chmerkovskiy could not hide his affection when asked about his rekindled romance with Jenna Johnson. In an interview at the 2017 Industry Dance Awards and Cancer Benefit Show held in Los Angeles Wednesday, the "Dancing With The Stars" pro talked about how his perspective on love and happiness changed when Maksim Chmerkovskiy tied the knot with Peta Murgatroyd last month.
Inside Val and Jenna's rekindled romance
The younger Chmerkovskiy thought he gained a different view on these things after he witnessed their exchanged of vows and recalled how beautiful the wedding ceremony was.
"I'm happy for them," he said, according to ET Online. "I'm happy that Peta is now officially a Chmerkovskiy and I officially have a sister."
He went on to talk about his romance with his "Dancing With the Stars" co-member and candidly revealed how their relationship has been doing since they made it Instagram official in June. "You know, I'm in a great place, and I'm in love, and I'm very grateful for that," he mused.
Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson have been making no effort to hide their relationship since their European trip a couple of months ago. In fact, the two could not help but gush about each other in their respective social media updates.
How romance started between Val and Jenna
The "Dancing With the Stars" pros were first mired in dating rumors last year. Photos of the two immediately surfaced on the internet as multiple sources claimed that the rumored couple could not keep their eyes off each other while enjoying a lunch date in West Hollywood after a dance rehearsal.
A source described the couple as "warm, affectionate, and worry-free" during their date. Although neither of the two parties has confirmed nor denied dating rumors, Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson's regular public appearances together were enough proof that they were dating.
The dancing pros first met when Jenna Johnson joined the lineup of "Dancing With the Stars" in 2014.
She was one of the choreographers before she was promoted as a professional instructor and was paired with Jake T. Austin in the previous season.
Val Chmerkovskiy, on the other hand, first appeared as a student in the dance program in 2006. He made his debut as a pro with Kelly Monaco in 2012. The Ukrainian-American dancer has won two championships with Rumer Willis and Laurie Hernandez in seasons 20 and 23, respectively.
Meanwhile, "Dancing With the Stars" will soon return for a whole new season on ABC.
