Worldwide fans were surprised on Friday when Taylor Swift recently deleted all her social media accounts – Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr and her Official Website – except for her VEVO account. Rumors came out that the apparent “social media inactivity” leads to a new album release.
USA Today reported what fans think about the recent removal of her accounts. The news website reportedly reached out to representatives of the pop singer but has not received a response yet.
Twitter user Andrea Santoyo wrote, “Taylor Swift is being super shady right now, and none of this is alright.
I do not know what to believe. Come on, Taylor what are you up to?” Meanwhile, some fans also asked whether her accounts were hacked.
According to Entertainment Online, the profile images and avatars on her pages are also gone, including her Instagram photos. She also reportedly unfollowed the users she has been following. All of her tweets were also deleted. However, her VEVO remained undeleted, but the profile picture on her account has been removed.
New album?
Speculations came out that these things lead to the release of her new album, citing clues to support their claims. Entertainment Online noted some intentional Tumblr changes, cryptograms and Instagram captions that provided clues to a rumored album release.
First, fans noticed that her Tumblr account is blank, but fades from pink to black when the page is loaded. Entertainment Online said that this was done intentionally.
Her avid followers also noticed a cryptic message found on Swift’s website. The official website now appears black, but reportedly contains a code that can be translated to “that’s what they don’t see.” Entertainment Online reported that some users found out of this cryptogram when they decoded the site.
Moreover, as her Instagram photos were all deleted, fans noted some clues from her photo captions. She reportedly dropped subtle hints for her new album. The last three pictures from her album were dedicated to co-artists Selena Gomez and Lorde, the report added.

Taylor Swift’s most recent album is titled “1989.” It is her fifth album from the previous titles, “Taylor Swift,” “Fearless,” “Speak Now,” and “Red.”
“1989” popularized the singles “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood,” and “Wildest Dreams.” The songs “Out Of The Woods,” and “New Romantics” were also featured.
The international pop singer was recently involved in a court battle and won the case against former radio DJ David Mueller. It was about an alleged groping incident that happened in 2013.
