Taylor Swift returns with a new sound

After an absence of three years, Taylor Swift made her comeback with this dark and edgy new single.

Prior to the release, the multi-Grammy award winning artist stirred the emotions of her fans by wiping out her Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr account. As fans speculated her reasons for doing so, Swift tweeted a series of cryptic snake videos on Instagram before announcing her upcoming album 'Reputation' on Wednesday. This will be her sixth studio album and is set to release on November 10th. Jack Antonoff, who previously worked with Swift on her album '1989', will co-write and co-produce this album.

Fans react to Taylor Swift's new single

Fans around the world have received the new single "Look What You Made Me Do" by Taylor Swift with mixed reactions. While many fans enjoyed Swift's dark style, most of the fans have slammed the song for being too dark compared to her previous tracks like "Shake it off." Some fans have even started posting memes of the single's similarity to the hit dance pop song "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred.

According to BBC, the duo gave permission to Taylor Swift for the song to be used and upon its release tweeted: "Thank you, Taylor Swift, what a marvelous reinvention!"

Taylor Swift calls out Kim and Kanye West

Taylor Swift's new single "Look What You Made Me Do" created a lot of controversy upon its release as she talks about getting even with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West if you listen for it.

As soon as Swift dropped her new single, many die-hard fans have taken it upon themselves to decipher each and every lyric of the song.

Lyrics such as "I don't like your games/ I don't like your tilted stage" and "The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now/ Why? 'Cause she's dead." have fans convinced that Swift is responding to Kanye West's tour last year as well as openly addressing the phone call between the two.

Last year, Kanye West made the controversial single "Famous" in which he made derogatory remarks about the pop star, who was unhappy upon its release and for Kanye to be taking credit for her success in the music industry. Therefore, many fans believe the track "Look What You Made Me Do" is an aggressive response to the hip hop artist. So far these are all speculations as Taylor Swift has yet to comment on the nature of the song.
