In several “Batman” movies, the Caped Crusader has faced the toughest of enemies. From The Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Catwoman to The Riddler, the hero that countless fans admire is more than ready to face the next big opponent. But who will it be?
Rumors circulating online revealed that the new villain in the upcoming “Batman” movie is Deathstroke. According to website 411Mania, screenwriter and director Matt Reeves allegedly penned Deathstroke in the original script for the upcoming stand alone “Batman” film. The website noted that Reeves wanted to go with this vision, including Deathstroke as the villain.
Actor Joe Manganiello was allegedly set to reprise the role.
Reactions to this speculation were reportedly positive and overwhelming. The report said that it is exciting to see a new face on the next “Batman” movie playing as the villain, other than the usual roster that includes the Joker, the Riddler or Penguin.
Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke
Actor Joe Manganiello is hip and fun. The report said that the actor is fit for the role of Deathstroke. Whether he will be involved in the next “Batman” film or not, the actor chose to keep things hidden for now.
He told the website that he does know something about it but he “can't say any of it.” When asked when will viewers find out about the final decision, Manganiello said that it is better if DC and Warner Bros would answer the question.
Deathstroke is one of the more popular villains in DC Comics. He is described as an assassin and is otherwise known as “Deathstroke The Terminator,” according to Batman Wikia. The villain has been involved in the United States Army, and fought in the battles in Korea and Vietnam, the information website noted.
New 'Batman' movie
After the successful release of “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice,” where viewers first saw Ben Affleck as Batman, the actor is now reportedly working on a stand alone movie featuring the Caped Crusader. The movie hopes to be a trilogy, with titles “Batman” and “Batman Beyond,” according to a report on website Techie Gamers.
Either one of these movie installments could feature Deathstroke as the villain.
In another report on website Collider, Affleck said that he personally wants Deathstroke to be part of the movie. He said he is a “great villain” and would match up with the titular character. The report said Affleck is personally a fan of Deathstroke and believes that it could work well.
