DC's "The Batman" has gone through quite a struggle to find its footing with pre-production. Earlier this year, actor Ben Affleck stepped down from his directorial role in the upcoming standalone film that was expected from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and this year's "Justice League." Matt Reeves has stepped in to fill the role that Affleck left, and the "War for the Planet of the Apes" director has lofty plans for the upcoming standalone film.

First of all, Reeves is already planning a trilogy, which is unsurprising, as most major superhero movies come in threes nowadays.

Secondly, he's also looking to make it "noir-driven," telling the story from Bruce Wayne's very own eyes. Based on his most recent statements about the film, the news that he dropped Affleck's script is now unsurprising. The 51-year old "Felicity" creator opened up about why he let go of the script that Affleck, Chris Terrio, and DC's Geoff Johns worked on for the film.

Matt Reeves is 'starting again' with the new script

MTV (via The Hollywood Reporter) revealed that "The Batman" director Matt Reeves said that the new script is "a new story. It's just starting again." He added that he is very excited about the new script, which he described as "really cool."

Joe Manganiello's fate as Deathstroke uncertain

With all the changes surrounding "The Batman," it isn't surprising that there's no word yet on Joe Manganiello's casting as Deathstroke.

The actor was cast for the role back when the script required Deathstroke to appear in the film. At this point, director Matt Reeves and star Ben Affleck have not confirmed that Manganiello's Deathstroke will still be in the film.

New 'Justice League' TV spot features the Flash

As fans wait for Ben Affleck's "The Batman" solo outing, the actor will return as Bruce Wayne in this year's "Justice League," which comes out in November.

A new international TV spot for the highly anticipated film has been released, and it features three of the five superheroes. There's Gal Gadot returning as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as Flash, and Affleck as Batman. Anticipation is high for fans of "Justice League," as a new trailer is most likely going to be showcased at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con, happening this July 20 and will go through the weekend following that date.

"Justice League" is set to open in theaters this November 17. Check out the new TV Spot trailer below.
