“X Factor” fans rejoiced when they discovered that Nicole Scherzinger was to return on stage as the judge this season. She had been absent between 2014 and 2016 and after a two-year sabbatical, the celebrity finally returned in 2016’s “X Factor.” Nicole however, has made the headlines for other reasons as well. Her co-judge on the show, Louis Walsh has made an absurd claim that Scherzinger is lying about being 39 years old.
Controversy over the singers age
According to a report published by The Sun, Nicole back in 2008 had admitted that her actual age was 30, despite of the “Pussycat Dolls,” website mentioning her age to be 28.
She clarified her birth place and date, by saying that she was born in Hawaii (Honolulu) in June, 1978.
Believing the information provided by her at that time as being true, she should ideally be 39 right now. Louis Walsh thinks otherwise. He told Heat! Magazine that Scherzinger might be talented and gorgeous but is actually lying about her age yet again. After garnering much fame through, “Pussycat Dolls,” the singer went on to pursue her solo career in music.
Nicole's relationship with Dimitrov
She met tennis star, Grigor Dimitrov in November, 2015 and later, established a romantic relationship with him. The couple was going steady until they started facing troubles due to time constraints. As of May 2017, the two are on a break, a report by The Sun suggests.
The reasons for their separation were made clearer when Dimitrov was spotted spending “quality time” with Maria Sharapova. Coming back to what Walsh’s claims, he says that while he doesn’t know her real age, he is certain that she is older than what she says she is. This isn’t the first time that Walsh has riled up controversy around his co-judge. In the previous season, he had a confrontational moment with Cheryl, as he quite bluntly questioned her vocal talent.
Nicole Scherzinger, on the other hand, has been reported by The Metro as wanting to settle down and have a family of her own. She told the publication that she wants to do more movies and theatre along with some charity work, before she finally settles down and has babies.
The actress had been in an on-and-off relationship with Formula 1 star, Lewis Hamilton for over seven years before she met Grigor Dimitrov. She also went on to hint that this year’s “X Factor” might be her last one as the judge. “I came into this industry as a musician, an artist, that’s the most important thing for me, to get back to that,” she said.
