In a joint statement, the pair said they were "saddened" to see the unfortunate end of their relationship. Both parties reassured that they will continue to support each other regardless of what happened.
"This hasn't been an easy decision, however, as we part ways, we do so with lots of love and admiration for each other," they wrote.
Vanessa Grimaldi has remained tight-lipped about her separation from Nick Viall since the announcement. She, however, shared an emotional post-breakup update on Instagram wherein she said that "it's okay to feel broken" along with a photo of her leaning on a friend.
A source confirmed to ET Online that the teacher has been spending most of her time with family and close friends in Canada after the split. It also revealed that the former "Bachelor" couple is still in contact in hopes to make the breakup easier for both sides.
Nick breaks silence on Vanessa split
Despite their decision to call it quits, Nick Viall is not ashamed to admit his true feelings towards his ex-fiancé.
In his interview with US Weekly on Monday, the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant confessed that he still loves Vanessa Grimaldi whom he considered his support system.
The 36-year-old TV personality added that he is currently trying to cope up with the separation by keeping himself busy and leaning on to his family and colleagues.
"In times that aren’t great, you have to kind of spend time with your loved ones," he said.
In fact, Nick Viall is set to visit his friends from Chicago for some time off this weekend. "I’m trying to stay positive, being around friends and family. It helps me stay positive," he continued.
He is also trying to go easy on himself about his breakup from Vanessa Grimaldi.
When asked if he still believes in love, Nick Viall was upfront when he said that he still does believe in such thing. He even added that he was lucky enough to have found love with his former fiancé.
Not much has been said about their sudden breakup, but Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi are not the first couple in the history of the "Bachelor" franchise to call it quits after the engagement.
