The "Han Solo" movie’s new director Ron Howard put to rest speculation on whether veteran actor Warwick Davis was joining the "Star Wars" spinoff by confirming on Twitter than the "Willow" actor is part of the film’s cast. Davis has long been a part of the galaxy far far away, which can be traced back to "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi."
The confirmation came out when Howard replied to a question on Twitter about a possible sequel to his popular fantasy hit, "Willow," a movie where Davis played the title role.
The director twitted back and said, “Glad you are asking for one! I directed @WarwickADavis for the 1st time in 30 years today. It made me happy.”
With this new "Han Solo" movie cast development, discussions now move to the possible parts that Warwick Davis may play in the still to be titled spinoff film. The web, of course, is not short of suggestions and theories and below are some likely roles Davis may play.
Bollux or Blue Max
According to the metro.co.uk, Davis could take the role of a droid, either Bollux or Blue Max, based on Han Solo stories from the past. Though Han may not be too friendly with droids, just asked C3PO, there are occasions in the Han Solo novels that he was paired with them.
Metro pointed out that in the original Han Solo trilogy of novels, Han and Chewbacca had been in the company of droids, namely Bollux and Blue Max. Meanwhile, Warwick Davis has played as a robot before in the 2005 movie, "Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy." The droid roles, therefore, could be an option for the actor.
Bad alien, human, Imperial officer
The Metro article also pointed to the possibility that Davis may play a bad alien character in the upcoming "Han Solo" movie because he has not played one before in the "Star Wars" universe.
The diverse world of "Star Wars" virtually offers a wide range of characters for Davis to play and since he briefly appeared before as a human, he could take the role of one in this film.
The Metro article further suggests that Davis could play a command character such as that of an Imperial officer.
Past Star Wars roles
Warwick Davis had several roles in the previous Star Wars films. His big screen debut came when he played the Ewok Wicket in the "Return of the Jedi." In "The Phantom Menace," he played Wald, a male Rodian slave on Tatooine and a childhood friend of Anakin Skywalker.
Davis also briefly appeared in "The Force Awakens," as Wollivan and the Star Wars spinoff, "Rogue One," as Weeteef Cyubee.
