“Game of Thrones” Season 7 is now down to its last two episodes. With that, fan-made theories and assumptions are now swirling about how the television show is going to end.
As the threat of the White Walkers’ attack is getting stronger, there is a new theory emerging about the Night King (Vladimir Furdik). A Reddit user named turm0il26 claimed that the First Man is actually Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright).
Bran’s journeys
Bran now considers himself the Three-Eyed Raven, but turm0il26 believes that he is also someone else.
The Reddit user predicts that the youngest Stark’s mental ability and power to “warg,” a skill to place his soul to another person or creature’s body, could mean that he is actually the Night King.
As shared by the Sun, the theorist explained that Bran thinks that he can change his history by traveling back in time to fulfill his own fate. This includes warning the Mad King (David Rintoul) about the White Walkers’ arrival and making him prepare by whispering to his ears that he needs to create a wildfire under the King’s Landing. This might be the reason why King Aerys II Targaryen is believed to be crazy by hearing voices inside his head, thus he wanted to burn the city.
Bran then travels further back in time and becomes Bran the Builder. Originally known as King Brandon Stark, he is the founder of House Stark, who built the Wall and Winterfell. He, too, is the one who said, “There must always be a Stark in Winterfell."
Lastly, he also journeyed to the time when the Night King is created, which is his final time travel.
At this point, turm0il26 argues that he either wargs to the First Man’s body who becomes the leader of the White Walkers, or he tries to kill the villain's creator, who is the Children of the Forest. In an effort to go back to the present, he travels much further in the past that he ends up being trapped in the moment and becomes the master of the Wights.
Evidence that supports the theory
The Reddit user believes that Bran is stuck behind the wall he built and waiting for the time he will be born again and become the Three-Eyed Raven who travels back in time.
He also claims that Bran has imitated the actions of the First Man when the Children of the Forest stub his heart with a dragonglass.
From the looks of it, it seems like he is feeling the pain the Night King is experiencing that time. He is also seen lying in the same exact position when the man is pushed up to the tree.
In another scene, the Children of the Forest have told Bran that he is the one who’s responsible for the White Walkers' emergence.
As he tells Leaf, a member of the non-human race, that they are the ones who made the White Walkers, she defended themselves by insisting that they are at war. “We were being slaughtered. Our sacred trees cut down. We needed to defend ourselves," she said.
Bran then asks her who they are trying to defend themselves from, to which she responds with, “From you.”
