The latest updates and spoilers for "Deadpool 2" will feature the concept of Time Travel and the film's production halted after the tragic death of a stuntwoman on set.
Time travel with Wade Wilson
With the arrival of Cable in "Deadpool 2," several comic book fans are asking if they will see any time travel during the sequel's plot and Ryan Reynolds provided some answers on the matter during an interview session with Screenrant.
According to Reynolds, time travel in the sequel is possible, but the latter will provide more concrete answers to the concept very soon.
Considering the complications of time travel and its effects in the past, present, and future timelines, it seems that Wade Wilson will thrust into a dangerous situation and provides a deeper depth into the movie's plot, other than humor.
"Deadpool 2" is the second film in the "X-Men" movie franchise to incorporate the use of time travel. "X-Men Days of Future Past" was the first to showcase the concept and it featured Wolverine traveling to the past and recruit a younger Professor Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Beast to stop Mystique from killing Bolivar Trask and prevent the creation of the Sentinels in the future.
It seems that "Deadpool 2" will likely mirror the plot of "Days of Future Past" as Cable goes to the past to prevent something from ever happening in his future timeline and change it with Wade's help.
The sequel has been hinted to introduce Hope Summers in the "X-Men" films and will set up the events of the "X-Force" live-action movie.
Film production shut down
20th Century Fox and Reynolds announced that the production of "Deadpool 2" will be temporarily shut down after the tragic death of stuntwoman SJ Harris during an action sequence.
Both Reynolds and production staff have expressed their grief on Harris's death and send out their condolences to her family and friends. Harris is working as the stunt double of Zazie Beetz, who is playing the mutant mercenary Domino in the sequel.
The fatality during the movie set has prompted Reynolds and the crew to cease all activities for the film, and it is unknown when will they resume production.
Harris' death was due an out of control motorcycle stunt, and Deadline reported that she was not wearing a helmet at the time.
While fans are wondering how the production stoppage may affect the sequel's time table, it is more important for this situation to be handled in full extent before resume filming. It is common practice that movies will provide daring and unbelievable stunt sequences, but the safety of each member is the most important thing to prevent these kinds of tragedies from ever happening in the future.
"Deadpool 2" will premiere on June 1, 2018.
