Who would not recognize the lovable yellow and black robot? Bumblebee has won many hearts of young and adult and now it’s time for him to shine.

Five “Transformer” movies have been released in theaters worldwide and aside from their leader, Optimus Prime; moviegoers always look forward to watching Bumblebee as well. Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) will be directing the first spin-off movie "Transformers" that will feature Bumblebee. Paramount studio is expecting that prequels and offshoots from the previous movies.

The production started on Monday in California and is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Michael Bay.

Other executive producers include Brian Goldner, Chris Brigham, Mark Vahradian, and Steven Spielberg.

WWE superstar John Cena in unspecified lead role

We can say that the “Bumblebee” spin-off movie is promising because of the characters that comprise it. The latest addition to the cast is none other than the WWE champion himself, John Cena who landed in an unidentified Lead Role. The hunk wrestler could be the father of the 17-year-old Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld – lead role) or he could be the mechanic himself.

Aside from having a wrestling career, he also ventured in to acting from the previous years. He starred in “The Wall” and “Tour de Pharmacy”. Cena’s upcoming projects include “Daddy’s Home 2” and “The Pact” co-starring Leslie Mann.

Young generations to cast in the movie include Ricardo Hoyos (Degrassi: Next Class), Rachel Crow (Clara voice over in “Rio 2), Jason Drucker (Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Fox reboot), Gracie Dzienny (Chasing Life), and Abby Quinn (Landline). Pamela Adlon (Better Things), and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming) are also included.

Official synopsis of the movie

“On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.”

Release date in theaters

The production started on Monday California and announced a new release date which is December 21, 2018, putting “Bumblebee” contrary to “Aquaman” of Warner Bros.

Bumblebee is an Autobot which is Prime’s most loyal lieutenant and has been appeared in all the previous “Transformers” film. However, in a previous installment, he got injured and lost the capability to speak and communicates only through audio clips from well-known media. The "Bumblebee" spin-off movie is the 6th for the franchise.
