“Divergent” star Shailene Woodley is one of Hollywood’s most vigilant actresses. She fights for what is right and does not mind staying on the streets as long as her voice is heard. While working for Bernie Sanders during his campaign, a desire to run for public office crossed her mind.

Shailene Woodley might run for Congress in the future

The “Big Little Lies” star revealed that she considered running for Congress in the future. She said that she will not rule it out.

The “Adrift” star has an innate political inclination and is a human rights advocate.

Woodley is currently fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline project. Months ago, she was arrested for criminal trespassing at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. She was able to document her arrest through Facebook Live video. She has been standing with the Native Americans in their fight to preserve their historical lands and their water supply.

The actress is currently working with Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Laura Dern for HBO’s “Big Little Lies” for which she was nominated the supporting actress for the Emmy Awards. Her role is that of a single mother, who enrolled her son Ziggy at a private school but found herself an outcast because of her social standing. Eventually, she was able to discover why the women act the way they do.

They have internal struggles in their respective families.

The “Divergent” star cannot stand violence

The “Fault in Our Stars” actress said that she cannot just stand and watch if there is violence as reported by the New York Times. She believes that many people failed to control their lives because of their experiences and trauma.

This is why she said that many are out of control because their past experiences were not addressed and received no support.

When asked if she is a feminist, she revealed that at present she is. She suggests on building matriarchy as opposed to the patriarchal society. With women leaders which are the need of the hour, there will be “enough softness, more silence, and more pause through the chaos,” she added.

Shailene Woodley has evolved from a shy actress into a proud feminist and human rights advocate. Despite her activities outside of the studio, she is not bereft with projects. After her successful stint with the “Divergent” franchise opposite Theo James, she has been constantly working. For 2018, she has a movie titled “Adrift” where she plays a woman who sailed into the eye of a storm for the sake of her beloved. The cast includes Luna Campbell and Sam Claflin. The film was written by Aaron and Jordan Kandell and directed by Baltasar Kormákur.
