Anna Faris and Chris Pratt broke the hearts of their fans when they announced they were legally separating after eight years of marriage. On August 6, the celebrity couple released a joint statement to deliver the unfortunate news to their followers.
Pratt and Faris announce separation
The "Take Me Home Tonight" duo admitted that they were "disappointed" with how things turned out after they "tried for a long time" to save their marriage. Both parties have refused to provide further details about the separation and asked the public to respect the privacy of their family as they go through this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Chris Pratt was the first to make a public appearance following the announcement of his separation from Anna Faris. The actor was spotted on his way to attend a church service on Sunday. Later that night, he attended the 2017 Teen Choice Awards to receive his Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor award for his "Guardians of the Galaxy" role.
The 38-year-old actor, in his acceptance speech, thanked several people and his fans for their constant support but made no mention of his wife. It is also worth noting that Chris Pratt was not wearing his wedding ring during his first public appearance after the separation announcement.
Faris thanked fans in latest podcast after split
Anna Faris, on the other hand, expressed her gratitude to her fans for the love they have been sending her since the split.
The actress, through her latest "Unqualified" podcast, delivered her first statement since the announcement but refused to talk further about the issue.
In the pre-taped episode, Anna Faris shared a piece of advice to a listener torn between her boyfriend and co-worker. She even shared her own experience as she talked about self-worth.
She advised the listener to know her worth and to enjoy her independence if things are not going her way.
The 40-year-old actress added that "there's so much life experience" and hoped that the listener will get to live it all and meet new people. Anna Faris also advised her listener not to be afraid of what the future holds and reminded her to know her value in a relationship.
"Life is too short for you to be in relationships where you're not feeling like this isn't fully right," she added.
Since the separation was announced, neither Chris Pratt and Anna Faris has said the real reason behind their decision to call it quits. Patti Stanger, however, revealed that the two are still living together even after the announcement.
